This vast open area is the high spot of the Cotswold hills and rises to around 1083 ft (330m) above sea level. On a clear day one can see spectacular panoramic views of the Malvern Hills and Brecon Beacons located in southern Wales. The common is protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Cleeve Cloud offers popular rock climbing and the golf course provides a great hilltop challenge.
