Woods used in WW1 for trench warfare training with the camp in Bovingdon Green

Pullingshill and Hollowhill form a site of special scientific interest (SSI).

This is woodland is divided into separate woods: in the Northern half the Common and Pullingshill (west) are right to roam areas but Davenport to the east is private but riddled with footpaths. For mapping as green, all here is wrongly listed as being "park".

The southern half has Hollowhill, Hog & Rassler woods
