  • This is a very old temple. The owner of this temple was actually the Nampoothiri's of Thottathil illom, Valiyakulangara,it is said by locals. But later they transfered the temple to the N.S.S.Karayogams of Valiyakulangara,Paikkuzhi and Changankulangara.
  • I am in my eighties.I remember the Eduppukuthiras that were being paraded in front of the temple during meeabharani.Height of each kuthiras was around 40 feets as the kuthiras in chettykulangara. There was also Garudan thookkam at the premises of the temple.
  • I like this very old temple. Valiyakulangara deviyude anugraham undakatte.

  • "sarva mangala mangalye sive sarvaardha saadhike saranye thrayambake gowri naarayanee namosthuthe"
  • Hi alll Note -This temple is situated in oachira panchayat @Laiju s -This temple was owned by the great KALLOOR FAMILY which is in payikkuzhi, kalloor junction, later it was given to NSS proof is this-Even today this family have major roles in conducting special poojas and ezhunnallathu. In a year only we have four ezhunnallath in temple as usual,Two of them in vrischikam,Festival thekkekara,Kalloor families 12 day festival and last vadakkekara festival.
  • Hai Jagan, You May be wrong. The temple website says that the Thottathil illom, Valiyakulangara was the Ooraalan (owner) of the temple. They will not publish the details without consulting veterans in the locality.
  • As per history almost all temples in Kerala were owned and ruled by Brahmins. The 'saanthi' and other rituals of Valiyakulangara temple were performed by Brahmins from time immemorial. So the opinion of the first commentator (Laiju) may be right. Eg :- The Ooraayma of Thazhakkuzhi temple was vested with Thenganathu Illom, Changankulangara in the past.
  • Can you please add the aidehyam of the temple as even wikepedia does not give details.
