  • A few weeks ago we visited Robson Ranch, TX and asked for a salesperson that we had before (about 1-1/2 years before). He was "Tall" Bill Siefkin. We asked about incentives or specials on homes as they were advertising in the Ft. Worth Star Telegram Newspaper. He said there was only one home they were offering about $30,000 off that was complete. We asked about the lowest price home, which when we first looked was in the low $190,000. He said it was now $212,000. We stated there was no use us looking at the models because we couldn't afford to go that high. We asked for directions to Del Webb Frisco Lakes. He then took the opportunity to run down that development and Del Webb in particular. Especially since Pulte builders took over. He said Pulte had lots of complaints against it and were almost in foreclosure. We said we had looked at La Cresta by Del Webb in Davenport, FL in late May of this year an was very impressed with the community and the homes. We told him we had also look at other Del Web communities in Florida such as Spruce Creek, where we almost moved in 2000. We moved to a Lennar Development, Kings Ridge, in Cleremont, FL instead. Tall Bill then preceded to turn on Lennar and said they were also almost in Bankruptcy and would go the way of Levitt. We already knew about Levitt. He then addressed the home situation in Florida, stating they had reduced the prices of their homes. But he didn't stop there. He continued to talk about Frisco Lakes and run it down. We asked for directions again, which he gave us. Then he was escorting us out the door and we were still talking, when he "turned on a dime" and greeted the new customers entering the door. My mouth was still open, as I was still talking. I am most disappointed with the caliber of salespeople you have at Robson Ranch Texas. Let me leave you with these important words. You don't built yourself up by running down others. I suggest you terminate his employment immeditely. We decided to investigate somem of his complaints. Lennar has declared bankruptcy on one development in California. No problems with Del Webb though. And, I believe Robson has the same problem in Arizona, taking huge reductions on homes there. So, apparently, Arizona has some of the same problems as Florida. By the way, we have decided when our home sales we are moving to Del Webb Georgetown. They currently have two inventory homes on the golf course for under $160,000. One has upgraded cabinets and tile floors in the entry, kitchen, living room, both bathrooms, etc. and a covered porch. One other comment, In June 1993 we were guest at Robson Sun Lakes and loved the community. Our salesperson's name was Bob and there was a lady with the last name of Sullivan at your call center. If it had been up to me, we would have moved there when my husband retired the following March, but he wanted to move to Florida instead.
