Whole Foods Market (Munsey Park, New York)

USA / New York / Munsey Park / Munsey Park, New York
 supermarket, interesting place

Former location of the Bonwit Teller & Co. Department Store which was designed in 1957 by Lathrop Douglass and Charles Anderson with 155,000 sqf of selling space. It contained a floor for children's clothing, a Charles of the Ritz salon, home furnishing's department, men's and boy's department, and a section for delicacies. In addition, the store had a restaurant on the top floor with an auditorium that seated 200. The Teller chain filed for bankruptcy and was liquidated in the 90's. The interior was designed by Wiliam Pahlmann.

Now a location of the Whole Foods Market chain where the original entrance to the store was (originally a Fresh Fields by acquisition). Minimal historic integrity remaining from the department store design.
