Guarding the entrance of Sandakan Bay, Berhala Island is well known for its steep and vertical cliff sides, of about 600 feet above sea level. There is a lighthouse on top of the cliff. Certain unique seaside plants are also found here. There are also certain caves at the southern part of this island. The island is a favourite spot for picnickers.
