Mojave Water Agency percolation pond along Oro Grand wash. This two-acre percolation pond is an experiment to determine if imported State Project water can be percolated into the ground for storage at a reasonable price. Water was percolated into an unknown aquifer and disappeared into the ground, leaving staff amazed. No one knows where the water went. A special monitoring well is supposed to tell us about how far, how fast, and in what direction the percolated water is flowing. It's amazing how one little monitoring well can do all of this. You know a masters degree in environmental science will teach you all kinds of magical things! Yippee!
