Built in the 1690’s by William Smith for Sir Roger Cave, Stanford Hall is one of the finest examples of architecture of the period. The hall contains a library with around 5,000 books, the The Pilcher Aviation Museum in the Stable Block and various works of art and a history. Undergoing a brief turbulent period in its history the hall is now well maintained by Sir Roger Cave's descendants who still reside there.
