Layer Marney Tower

This Tudor gatehouse is the tallest in Great Britain and is beautifully adorned with terracotta shells and dolphins. It is one of the finest examples of terracotta brickwork to be found anywhere. It was constructed during the reign of Henry VIII for the 1st Lord Marney.
