This is the sanctuary created for protecting the critically endangered Great Indian Bustard (called "maldhok" in Marathi language). It is an excellent habitat for the endangered Blackbucks, Wolf and Indian Fox. On the upper left hand corner is a government (forest dept) rest house which can be rented.

  • The great indian bustard is danger now as the local people instigated by politicians have burnt the sanctuary. Neary 30 to 40 acres of the forest and the habitat of the GIB has been destroyed by the reclessness of the goverment. there is a need to have an awareness campaign to protect the bird
