A Great Jumping Spot

This is a really great rock to jump from into the Russian River. The jumping point is about 30 feet up. THIS JUMP IS NOT FOR FIRST TIME JUMPERS. You can park on the shoulder of Geysers road. The rock to jump from is just below an old utility pole on the other side of the river. The hike down to the river is very steep with a lot of loose rock. Be VERY careful. You have to swim across the river to climb the rock. BEFORE CLIMBING THE ROCK OR JUMPING FROM IT, BE SURE TO CHECK UNDERWATER AT YOUR LANDING POINT FOR ROCKS AND WATER DEPTH. There is usually 8 to 10 feet of water here with a sandy river bottom, but the bottom of the river can be different every year. Don't be stupid. Check the bottom BEFORE ANYONE JUMPS. Again, this is not for first time jumpers. This is not a straight down jump. You need to jump out about 10 feet to clear the rock. If you've made big jumps into water before, you'll know this isn't as hard as it sounds. The climb up the rock isn't easy, but it's not very difficult either. Keep in mind though, that once you get up there, jumping is usually the safest way down. Shoes aren't necessary for this small 30 foot jump, but they are a "nice to have" for the climb up the rock. You really should have someone in your group that is sober and familiar with first aid and water rescue, just in case of an accident. I jumped this rock for 15 years and never had an accident because I always did everything that I just recommended. Have fun and BE SAFE AND BE CAREFUL.
