At this place was the Old Cathedral or the Church of the Archangel Michael, which was built at the very beginning of the XIX century. From 1813 to 1836 the temple was the Cathedral of Chisinau. Cinema "Moskova" was opened in 1965 at the address: Youth Avenue 15. Architect - N. Kurennoy. The building was erected at about the place where the Old Cathedral was. In 1974, the interior of the cinema was reconstructed.Former cinema "Moskova" on Pr. Youth (Central Beam, Renasterii), converted in the 2000s into the former Concert and Entertainment Complex "Moscova". Now on this is the Eugene Ionescu Theater.
