Dhubri is an old small town on the bank of the river Brahmaputra and Gadadhar, a tributary of Brahmaputra. In the yesteryears Dhubri was an important commercial centre particularly of jute. Partition of the country in 1947 changed all that.Its a terminal station of Fakiragram-Dhubri branch line.Train service is presently suspended due to gauge conversion work.
