Recreio dos Bandeirantes, loosely translated to Standard Bearers retreat, is a upper-middle class neighborhood in the Southwestern region of Barra da Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro. It has an area of approximately 11.8 square miles.

Located West of Barra da Tijuca neighborhood, Recreio dos Bandeirantes is a neighborhood that has grown rapidly to approximately 40,000 inhabitants. It is one of the more valuable neighborhoods in the city attracting those of the upper-middle class. Recreio, contrary to Barra which is littered with skyscraper residential towers, is primarily populated with low buildings with large porches.
