The Tijuca (meaning marsh or swamp in Old Tupi) is a neighbourhood of the northern zone of city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is one of the most traditional neighbourhoods of the city.
Although its origin has been a region of mansions, currently it is typically urban. Still thus, it possesss the second bigger urban forest of the world, (Tijuca Forest).
