USAF Supersonic all-weather interceptor aircraft, operated by the 102d Fighter-Interceptor Squadron from 1972 through 1975. Aircraft 57-778 flew regular missions with the Squadron until a 1974 onboard fire occurred while the aircraft was in an airborne landing pattern. While its pilot was able to safely land the aircraft despite the loss of electrical and hydraulic systems, the internal damage was too great to warrant repair and the airframe was stripped of reusable materials and subsequently placed on gate guard duty.
