The older building (west building) was built and finished in 1951. The far wing (east building) was built around 1964. Both replaced the school which burned down in 1944. After the fire, school was held in the hotel which stood on Main Street in the business district, until the new school was finished. That being the one built around 1951. The hotel was directly north across the street of what now is the old abandoned bank building. The hotel was torn down sometime in the late 1960's to early 70's.
