Catholic high school opened in 1953, on property donated by the Ursuline Sisters, it was first high school to be built in Windsor since Kennedy Collegiate in 1929. Originally called Corpus Christi High School, additions were constructed in 1954, 1959 and 1965 and enrollment reached 1,800 by the 70s.
In 1965 the name of the school was changed to honour Monsignor Francis J. Brennan, a Windsor priest who served as editor of the Catholic Digest and who had a strong influence in shaping the Catholic educational system in Ontario.
The school presently accommodates approximately 1,000 students dressed in their distinctive black, red and white school uniforms.
