  • The Homestead-Miami Speedway served the season finale for IRL IndyCar Series (starting 2009), NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Nationwide Series and the Camping World Truck Series. On Sunday, November 16th 2003, former Sprint Cup Series Champion, Bobby Labonte led only the final lap to take his 21st cup victory after Bill Elliott had a tire problem, who led 189 of 267 laps. This 2003 NASCAR Winston Cup season finale race was Bobby Labonte's most recent win and he hasn't won the race since. It was also the last cup race under the RJ Reynolds sponsorship and beginning in 2004, the cup series would be known as Nextel Cup and 2008 as Sprint Cup.
