This is a popular place for delivering public talks, conducting cultural programs, public hearings, dramas/theatres, and musical concerts. A year ago Ozomatly along with Nepali bands conducted a musical/cultural program supporting peace process in Nepal. Similarly, an international theatre group along with Gurukul Arohan conducted a program called "Divinity for public" a musical drama combined with pyrotechnics.

This place is important for its role and use in democratic movements in Nepal. A small bell shaped buildings (as if bell is placed horizontally) has a natural acoustic to make speeches loud enough to be heard by the audience, some times the authorities themselves. A military stage is just behind this place facing other direction for the functions by Nepal army for the then Kings.
