A two-story shopping mall located on Baltimore Pike and Route 320 (locally Sproul Road/Swarthmore Avenue) in Springfield, Pennsylvania.

Currently anchored by Macys and Target. Former tenants include John Wanamaker, Hecht's, and Strawbridge's department stores.


PERIMETER
Springfield Mall is the only shopping mall of the three in Delaware County to lack exterior businesses around its perimeter, having instead allocated such space to parking. Adjacent to the mall can be found the Springfield Mall station of SEPTA's Route 102 Trolley Line.

  • Actually, I've read it was SEPTA's Route 101 Trolley, not Route 102. http://www.septa.org/maps/click_map/springfield_mall_sproul.html And judging by the pictures of the bridge I've seen on Google Maps's Street View function, I have a feeling the station might've been there before the mall.
  • Yes, it's the 101 Media line, which was built prior to 1915. There was probably a trolley stop on Rt 320 (Sproul Road) all along. Tri-County Hospital was just up the road a bit.
