The first Hebrew families arrived in Brasov in 1807 with the approval of the local. Their number increased in 1890 to 769, and in 1940 to 6000 people. During World War Brasov Jews were safe, were not transported to camps, but were beaten, their children were expelled from school, were excluded from economic life, and in 1941 aa synagogue was devastated. With all that on their arrival in Brasov were restricted to jobs and could engage only in some places that were rejected by the Saxons, becoming hatters, tailors, painters and jewelers, had an important role in economy, trade and culture city.
