A pretty little drive out to Honeymoon island, unfortunately you really can't swim here. The water on the north side is completely clogged with seaweed, and the water on the south side is unbelievably rocky - large, uneven, rough limestone rocks between the size of softballs and footballs - it's impossible to even walk through the water without sandals, and it's unwise to swim there as a wave dragging you over the millions and millions of barnacle-encrusted rocks would ruin your whole day.

Bonfires are no longer legal on this beach, but up until the late eighties it was the thing to do: get some friends together with pickups, gather driftwood, start a bonfire and hang out after dark. Given the salt in the driftwood, the fires were pretty. As with everything good and pure and mildly destructive, the Yankees put a stop to that.
