The Springfield Square shopping center is an outdoor shopping complex located on the south side of Baltimore Pike. It is part of the numerous retail and dining compunds that dot Baltimore Pike between I-476 (to the west) and PA Route 420 (to the east). The Springfield Square North shopping center is located opposite the property and the Springfield Square Central shopping center is located to the east.

The arrival of Border's Books and Music, one of the shopping center's current anchor stores, in the 1990s successfully breathed life into the vicinity and attracted a host of other businesses. Current tenants include Olive Garden, Charlie Brown's restaurant, Cold Stone Creamery, Hallmark Cards, Men's Wearhouse fashions, FedEx/Kinko's, and Oreck Vacuums.

Former tenants include John Harvard's Brewhouse and Barrel Grocer.

In addition to the retail and dining options, a number of private business offices, including medical and law practices, can be found on the property.
