St. Lambert (Шпай)

Germany / Rheinland-Pfalz / Spay / Шпай
church, listed building / architectural heritage

St.Lambert catholic church in Spay was built from 1899 to 1902 in accordance with the plans of the Cologne architects Carl Rüdell and Richard Ordenthal. It replaced the old parish church, which had become too small, built in Spay in 1670 on a bank of the Rhine river. This brick structure in neo-Romanesque style is probably the most original creation of that productive architectural team.
