  • Pattukottai Davis, the legendary leader of the Dravidian movement (Dravida kazhagam) lived and breathed his last in this village. He was the first panchayat president of Anaikkadu 1951 - 1956. He was also a great poet, a reformist, a Principal, Headmaster, and an orator. He was the guru and teacher for G.K.Moopanar, Kalaignar Karunanidhi, Nedunchezian, Veeramani, Ananthanayaki, Muktha srinivasan etc. He taught poetry to the great poet Pattukottai kalyanasundaram. A great Zamindar he owned a lot of wealth and was never behind any political posts. He is survived by his son Eddy Firbank and two grandsons Jones and Joel and 2 granddaughters. His wife Vethamani davies was a leader in the womens wing of Dravida kazhagam and later congress. His Grandson Jones (Ranjan) is a famous Entrepreuner, Engineer, Artist and a social activist.

He has formed two trusts namely 1) DAVIS VETHAMANI CHARITABLE TRUST and 2) DOROTHY EDDY CHARITABLE TRUST for the purpose of alleviating human sufferings, eradication of illiteracy and poverty, and imparting a sound moral education. An Engineer by profession he designed, constructed and commissioned the Berth and Jetty for Sharjah's longest berth inside sharjah sea port. He also manufactured the worlds first Multi-Aircraft docking system for EMIRATES AIRLINES in Dubai for ALROUMI engineering. He also has great artistic talents and a good dancer and Model.   • Yes..I too know Mr. Jones He helps people from all walks of life. He doesnt seek any publicity. He has given job for many relatives and boys from nearby villages in his company in Dubai. Whenever someone goes to Sharjah/Dubai from our native..he takes care of them till they leave. Even in his house at Kottivakkam, chennai..there are visitors everyday..for various requests..
  • Anaikkadu Jones is a gem of a man. He is not a person seeking cheap publicity. Me being a prominent business man in Pattukottai for the past 30 years I know Mr. Jones and his father Anaikkadu Eddy Firbank and his grandfather the great legendary D.V. Davis. They are an aristocratic and noble family. Helping is in their blood. Poet Pattukottai Kalyansundaram was a disciple of D.V. Davis. Davis was the greatest dravidian leader i have seen. His stage speeches was firebrand and full of enthusiasm. The Aryan government in the late 60's filed 1500 cases against him and all thru his lifetime he had to fight the cases in Pattukottai court with his own expenses. Big leaders today enjoying the benefits of Periyar E.V. Ramasamy naicker Trust should be knowing this fact. Oh..this a family with no blemishes.
