Talim Island (Cardona)

Philippines / Southern Tagalog / Gulod Malaya / Cardona
 mountain, island

Talim Island is located at the center of the Laguna de Bay lake under the municipality of Binangonan on the western side and the municipality of Cardona on the eastern side in the province of Rizal, Philippines. The island is rich in bamboo grass, with which islanders make different types of furniture such as bamboo sofas, cabinets, tables, chairs and a lot more. It is the main source of their living, while fishing on the lake is only secondary.

Its most famous feature is Mt. Talim or Bundok ng Susong Dalaga (Breasts of a Maiden), which is actually a "volcano." They are two conical hills that do resemble a woman's breasts but they can only be best seen from Mt. Sembrano in Jala-Jala, Rizal.

The following images above were taken from Sta. Rosa, Laguna where only one of the conical hills of Mt. Talim is visible.

Guys, Please give informative and good narrative comments about Talim Island. If you have nothing good to say just write it on a paper and throw it in the lake I'm sure mother nature will heal whatever pain is in your body and mind. Thanks.

Much of the comment here are nonsense. Did they ever realize that this island has significant part in our history? Did they know that this island is the home of Elias, the Boatman, which is one of the main character in the book written by Dr. Jose Rizal, El Filibusterismo.

This lake is such a waste of valuable space which otherwise could have been put to good use for business and industrial activity. They should consider reclaiming some portion of this lake for Economic purposes.

Constructive criticism must be given... so the leaders there...will be given further idea on how to improve the island and its body of water.
