Taal Volcano is an active volcano on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. It consists of an island in Lake Taal, which is situated within a caldera formed by an earlier very large eruption. It is about 50 km from the capital, Manila.
Height 311 m.
The volcano has erupted violently several times, causing loss of life in the populated areas surrounding the lake. Due to its eruptive history and location close to population centres, the volcano has been designated a Decade Volcano worthy of close study to prevent future natural disasters.

  • We`ve been here 2002, I`m so excited to see TAAL VOLCANO. Honestly speaking if we only practice discipline, the place is really attractive for the tourist. Maintain cleanliness, for the horses owners do feed them well, for the vendors practice cooperation and discipline.
  • This is the volcano island. This land formation is actually a the "resurgent dome" of the Taal caldera. The resurgent dome is formed because the magma itself pushes the land mass upwards creating a bulk. Similar resurgent domes can be found in many calderas and supervolcanoes (Mt. Toba,Indonesia)
