Established in 1939 the Umka factory produces chrome cardboard from recycled paper. Since privatization in 2004, when Umka became part of the Kappa Star Ltd group, more than 40 million euros have been invested in the factory. Production capacity has more than doubled and currently stands at 105,000t per year. Umka exports over 80% of its production to over 30 European countries.Umkin cardboard is widely used in the production of cardboard packaging for the needs of the food and confectionery industry, pharmaceutical, chemical, tobacco, textile, automotive and spare parts industry for the machine industry.
