  Blackford County, Indiana's fourth smallest county, consists of a few small towns. The largest two are Hartford City (the county seat) and Montpelier. Blackford High School is the one and only high school for this county (at one time it had the 2nd largest parking lot of all of Indiana). Also, it should be noted that the Blackford County courthouse in downtown Hartford City can be compared to a three level castle and at one time, there was much more activity in Blackford County than there is now.
