McMillan airstrip is a private airstrip owned by the US Army and is located on the Camp Roberts Military Reserve property..Utilized by both the US Army and the US Air Force, McMillan is used exclusively as a base for operating & testing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) such as the 'Predator', and others.. McMillan's one and only Runway 10-28, currently measures 3,800'L x 60'W, and is paved & marked with center line, limit line, and standard runway markings. Wind socks are located on the north side of the runway at either ends. Currently the airfield is daytime operations only & non-instrumented. Facilities include a 40' x 70’ hangar, office spaces & a conference room. The runway is a B-II category airstrip, adequate for a maximum aircraft weight of 12,500 lbs. A multi-phase program is currently underway to further enhance the UAV base over a period of years.
