Previous name is Narasingapuram. Ancient village was situated under western ghats (4 km west to current location, at Seku medu), due to high wind and sand storm (June to Oct) village moved to 2 km east and called Puliyumpatti (based around Udaiyalamman kovil). Due to same reason moved 2 km east (Current location, based around Narasinga perumal kovil) and called as Narasingapuram because of famous Narasinga Perumal temple. Before our country freedom Narasingapuram is called as Rasingapuram and stands as same.
Population approximately seventeen thousand and well growing village. It’s a agriculture village almost of people depended on Agriculture. Secondary depend on cow as similar in this district. Rasingapuram is divided as lot of parts, Melapatty, Kelapatty, Therku patty, Kulathu patty, Kodi Bomminayakkanur, Veera Jakkamal puram, Samathuvapuram and famous 3 navadhu wardu (middle street), 1 navadhu wardu and 4 lavathu ward.
