Originally built by London and South Western Railway, it served the villages of Church Oakley and East . It was closed by the Beeching Axe in 1963s. However, since then the large village of East Oakley has grown up, and now and again there are proposals to have it reopened. The station building is now a commercial property, and the council understand the importance of getting it reopened. However, nothing is planned right now.
