Comments

  • In 1974 the MV Irish Trader was stranded here.
  • Eh, first of all the nearest town is Drogheda. Dublin, Dundalk, and Lisburn are miles away, Lisburn being nearly two hours. And secondly the wreck is on Baltray beach, County Louth (about 30 mins drive from Laytown, County Meath)
  • You tell'em Mr Walker
  • Thank you Cian. It should also be noted that Dundalk is not a City but a Town. The considerably larger and nearer town of Drogheda is more deserving of the title of City and is actually currently pursuing that status. The wreck of the Trader has now, this month, finally succumbed to the sea with the Bow section finally shorn by winter storms from the superstructure.
