Du Cane Court is an Art Deco housing building in Balham. When it opened it the 1930's it featured a shop, restaurant and roof terrace. It is often used as a location for the filming of productions based during the early 20th century. There are over 650 flats in complex and it is reputedly so large in size that it was used as a navigational aid by German pilots during the Blitz of World War 2. This theory may also be due to the fact that it was never bombed during the war, although this lead to suspicions that German spies were living in the building. Dolphin Square in Pimilico is a similar age and size.
