LVRR Bronx Terminal (New York City, New York)

USA / New Jersey / Edgewater / New York City, New York
 railroad yard, railway terminal

The Lehigh Valley Railroad Bronx Terminal facility was opened in 1906. The designer of the terminal property was Walter G. Berg, who was the chief engineer by 1906 of the LVRR, and who also designed the Harlem Transfer facility. A major site renovation and reconfiguration took place in 1926. A mortgage was issued for adjoining property south of the established terminal property, adding another six acres of land and longer river frontage towards 144th street and beyond. Land on the north side of the property was leased at this time to Pillsbury Flour Mills. Other tenants on the site included Streat Coal, Pittsburgh Plate Glass, Morton Salt, etc. The terminal was in service through 1968.
