Kuhn, a German immigrant who owned a successful meat-packing business, built the Italianate home for his family at 413 West Michigan Street in 1879. A $2.1 million project restored the National Register-listed home to its original glory and added a compatible addition, separated from the historic structure via a three-story glass atrium to symbolize the division between old and new.
The building previously housed Indiana Landmarks before its move to the historic Central Avenue Methodist Church, now called Indiana Landmarks Center, in 2011.
