HMS Neptune
Her Majesty's Naval Base (HMNB) Clyde (HMS Neptune) is one of three operating shore bases in the United Kingdom for the Royal Navy (the others being HMNB Devonport and HMNB Portsmouth). It is the service's headquarters in Scotland and is best known as the home of the United Kingdom's strategic nuclear deterrent, in the form of nuclear submarines armed with Trident submarine launched ballistic nuclear missiles (SLBM).
HMNB Clyde lies on the eastern shore of Gare Loch in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, to the north of the Firth of Clyde and 25 mi (40 km) west of the city of Glasgow. The Commodore Faslane Flotilla (COMFASFLOT) is responsible to the Commander-in-Chief Fleet (CINCFLEET) for ensuring that Flotilla units achieve the required state of operational readiness and availability to enable operational deployment.
The submarine base encompasses a number of separate sites, the primary two being:
Faslane Bay, 25 miles from Glasgow and,
RNAD Coulport, beside Loch Long, 8 mi (13 km) west of Faslane.
Order of Battle

Eight Sandown Class Single Role Mine Hunters (SRMH).
Plus three nuclear powered Trafalgar Class SSN attack submarines which will shortly be based at HM Naval Base Clyde following the Maritime Change Programme Announcement.
Faslane is also a Defence Equipment and Support site, operated in dual site organisation with Great Harbour, Greenock, by Babcock Marine, and managed by Serco Denholm.
