Moldova Steel Works was commissioned in January, 1985. Since starting operation the plant persistently and
successfully improves its products to meet more and more diversifying requirements of the international
market. Our mission is to satisfy customers requirements in steel products and services with the use of
efficient management, high engineering potential and reputable activity of skilled specialists.
A good reputation that JSCC Moldova Steel Works enjoys on the international steel market is backed up with

Moldova Steel Works is a young enterprise (20 years old), wearing of the main equipment constitutes not
more than 25%. The plant operates a highly productive 120t EAF with a capacity of more than 1 000 000 t of
crude steel per year, a ladle-furnace installation, a vacuum degasser, a six strand CCM, a two-line rolling mill,
with STELMOR line of 144 m long and a high-speed wire bloc (120 m/sec), "Line 100" packing line, with
provisions for piece counting, when required by a customer.
Given the current situation on the steel markets and the opportunities faced by Moldova Steel Works, the top
management aims at strengthening positions of the plant as of a reliable producer and supplier of a high
quality cord and cable wire rod and bars on the targeted markets, and at increasing sales of competitive steel
products in conformity with national and international standards. A deep study of the market trends and of
the plant's position on the market allowed our top management to take a decision on modernisation and
technical upgrading of the plant.
