This Temple was consecrated very long ago by Brahmasree Mangadu Govindan thanthrikal, who was an ardent believer and devottee of Durga. The temple was initially built in a temporary structure by the family members of Kammanchery madom. A permanent structure was built in early when managements were made for permanent sevas at the temple. It was established and consecrated by Brahmasree Govindan Thanthrikal in 1960.After the demise of Brahmasree Govindan thanthri, the next generation continued the same faith and devotion to Durga devi and other Deities with poojas and offerings. Now, Sree Durga devi is very dear to the devotees who strongly believe that, they are being protected by him from their hidden dangers, sorrows and worries. Then the temple decided to rectify the defects in the temple and re-consecrate the idols of the temple at the Holy hands of Brahmasree Subrahmanyan thanthrikal in 1990.
