The People Power Movement (aka EDSA Revolution) deposed then President Ferdinand Marcos in a peaceful protest against the results of the 1986 snap elections. Citizens from across Manila showed their solidarity by blocking tanks and soldiers with their presence and prayers. President Corazon Aquino was installed into power in this way.
