Originally, designed by architect S Scott Joy, known for his industrial buildings, (including, the Army Supply Depot in Chicago's Central Manufacturing District, Goodyear Tire In Akron, Ohio and The Kansas City Cold Storage Building in Kansas City, Missouri) for the Coe Terminal Warehouse Company, in 1926, the six story, 355,000 sq. ft., building was purchased by the Salvation Army in 1972.
