The Santa Cruz Harbor District maintains the Santa Cruz Small Craft Harbor in what once was Woods Lagoon. The harbor as built in two stages, in 1964 and 1972, housing around 850 private and commercial vessels.
Due to continuous mass transport on the coast and sediement accumulation from Arana Gulch, the harbor nust be continually dredged to maintain draft for all vessels.
