  • Do to the absurdly controlling nature of our Leacroft Community Home Owners Association Board and our committees, we've determined that we don't mind losing a little home value in return for giving a few honest comments about our neighborhood. First of all, let me just point out that "Wanna Be" would be the best description of the people in our neighborhood. We have a handful of very sweet spirited neighbors, and a large number of hateful and contentious neighbors. Any time anyone tries to do anything to improve their neighborhood and property, they're met with a swat on the hand from one of our boards. Install a fence to hide your burn pile? Receive a visit from the building committee. Replace worn and old light fixtures. You got it! A visit from the building committee. Hide your trash can in your back yard, (out of view from the road per the rules). Receive a visit from the HOA Board. Hide your trailer under your deck in your back yard? Receive a letter from the HOA Board. Have too many cars for your narrow driveway and park on the grass between your home and driveway? Receive a letter from the HOA Board. But wait, it gets better! Cruise, (while looking), through a stop sign? Receive a plain clothes, off duty officer from down the road, at the end of your driveway flashing a badge and yelling for you to come to him so he can chew you out. He's not satisfied with that conversation so he then writes a letter to the entire community calling a 55 year old neighbor a "young man" and tells him to slow down. Allow your teenagers to walk around the neighborhood during the day? They're gossiped about as hoodlums and accused of breaking into cars. Finally, if you have a company sign on your car, you receive a letter telling you that you've erected a billboard on your property, and it must be removed! I could go on and on with the little slights of this classless neighborhood. These are people with the mentality of twelve year old children and a hunger for POWER!
  • Now one of the board members took ownership of a corner of the pool with a sign. It says "Mike's Corner!" But you'd better not put a sign in your yard, unless you're on the board!
