Museo de Paleontología (Creel)

Mexico / Chihuahua / Creel / Adolfo López Mateos

"Paleontology Museum" Has a nice, though small, collection of traditional artwork of the local Tarahumara native Americans (indígenas). On the outside wall there is a striking, though not well maintained, mural with two moving poems about Tarahumara points of view. They are written in Tarahumara with Spanish translations.

Here's an Enlish translation of the one pictured:

They’re doing away with
All the pines in the forest
They’re logging too much
The ones that love money.

If the woods could speak
Here’s what they would say:

Don’t cut off my arms and legs,
If you’re doing this
It’s your own life you’re ending.
