The Principia Upper School, Middle School, and Lower School is a private Christian Educational institution founded by Mrs. Mary Kimball Morgan, an educator and author, in 1897. (112 years ago)

The original campus location was on Page in downtown St. Louis, this west county campus of 366 acres was purchased in the early 60's and made into the new country campus.

Principia also purchased a few thousand acres and most of the town of Elsah, Illinois on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River, where they built a College Campus. The College Campus is on the National Register of Historic Places, primarily do to the numerous buildings designed and constructed by Famous California Architect Bernard Maybeck in the 1920's to 1930's and on.

The "Upper School" here on Clayton Road is also part of the local ABC Sports League along with many of the other Private High Schools in West County. The Upper School & Middle School has both Day and boarding students, the Lower School is all day students.
