One America Plaza is a 500-foot (152-meter) 34-story obelisk-shaped office building which is the tallest in San Diego and was built in 1991. It has been built exactly to the city's height limit. It also hosts the America Plaza trolley transfer station where the blue line and orange lines meet. This Building is also the home to Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego (MCASD).

  • Also referred to as the "Phillip's-Head Screwdriver Building" because of the unique shape of the top of the building.
  • It was originally meant to be a pair of identical towers. They started work on the northern tower, finishing its basement before they halted construction indefinitely.
