  • When My day was 10 years old in 1956 the area where the State Fairgrounds is was the newest part of Albuquerque. It had modern housing at the time. It was the Premier Heights of Albuquerque.
  • The State Fairgrounds holds many events throughout the year including concerts at Tingly Colliseum and Home and remodeling shows in the Manuel Lujan Complex. The largest event of the year is The New Mexico State Fair. It usually takes place in early September and runs for two weeks and three weekends.
  • The State Fairgrounds is also home to the All Faiths Receiving Home Apple and Arts Festival. This year it is on September 29. It is a great time for familes and benefits a great cause!
  • I have been told that NM has the third largest State Fair in the US. The fairgrounds are pretty cool. Especially the quilt exhibit in the Home Arts Annex-the canning, not so much :)
  • The fairgrounds it the "anchor tenant" for the war zone directly east. San Pedro east to Wyoming and Zuni north to Lomas should be leveled. The square to the south just needs some selective pruning (with a couple of big bulldozers).
