Linglestown is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded and laid out in 1765 by Thomas Lingle and was named St. Thomas. Because of the founder's name, people referred to the town as "Lingle's Town", and was unofficially renamed "Linglestown" after his death in 1811.[1] The population was 6,414 at the 2000 census.
