A local Eydon historian Kevin Lodge solved the mystery:
What you can see is an all weather road for exercising race horses. It was built about 10 years ago, 1997, by the then owner of Eydon Hall who bred race horses.
What puzzles me is how they laid it out. It is a perfect circle, yet much of it is out of sight of the centre because of hedges, banks etc. Obviously more high tech than two poles and a piece of string!
